Yellow spring

04.24.2003

A beautiful spring day. And I was poked and prodded by doctors. I never thought a Fulbright medical clearance was so difficult. I'm not even half finished.

But a lovely day for walking through campus. I snapshot these wonderful yellow flowers before stepping onto the #16 bus downtown. Not sure what they're called, but they looked great. A line of shrubs that was all flowers and no leaves.

I got quite a bit of walking done today. In between medical appointments I finished grading my final exams and putting the finishing touches on my gradebook. So all I have left to do is a bit of research for Dr. Kuersten.

Went to 1977 Mopeds. Dan's almost finished w/ Lucia. So far she looks great. Just one more modification — custom chopping the rear fender (or at least adjusting it).

Lucia was my first moped. She's been stolen twice — recovered by Moped Army vigilantism. She took me to Chicago and back — along Lake Michigan's Red Arrow Highway and through Chicago's Lakeshore Drive.

She was fine-tuned and utterly reliable. Until I shortened the chain, causing the rear wheel to slowly chew itself. I've not ridden my Bianchi in about six months. Buzz, buzz, ciao!

Really? Forsythia? Wow! That was one of my favorite Veruca Salt songs. I'll have to play that CD now ...
