Odds & ends

02.18.2004

I'm pretty much just getting ready for my bus trip (24 hours) to Tarija tomorrow afternoon. Here's to hoping I find a hostel room during the busy carnival season. Ah, but to be back in Tarija in the summertime! I'm even planning on meandering slowly back towards La Paz w/ a stop through Sucre ("La Ciudad Blanca de América"), Bolivia's historic & constitutional capital.

I already bought my bus ticket ($14.03) & dropped my clothes off at a laundromat. I've decided to bring Kaneda along on this trip, not only to allow me to upload pictures (my memory card limits me to about 130+), but also to allow me to write, watch DVDs, listen to music at night, stuff like that. Now I'm just relaxing, waiting for my laundry.

News in Bolivia is pretty much just eclipsed by Carnaval, which lasts for days. So it's pretty static here. Sure, things happen, but nothing spectacular. And after the crushing of the transit strike by popular disinterest, I'm optimistic that Mesa'll surive past Carnaval. Here's hoping.
