Fulbrighters party down

02.29.2004

My fellow Fellow, Stephen, hosted a small party at his Sopocachi apartment last night. So I closed O Mundo Café early & headed down.

The occasion was a despedida (farewell) for Stephen's German friend. A few other Fulbrighters were there (including a recently-arrived art historian from Michigan), smoking cigarettes, drinking wine & singani. It was quite a bit of fun after a long absence from La Paz.

I told Stephen he has to come w/ me to a soccer match soon. After all, how can you be an anthropologist in Bolivia w/o ever going to a soccer match. Unfortunately, Stephen fancies himself a Strongest fan.

Around 3:30am, I stumbled towards Plaza Isabel la Católica to hail a cab for home.
