Mission: Pixies
04.10.2004OK. The Pixies are one of my favorite bands. Ever. And they're doing a reunion tour. Not this summer (as anticipated). But in the Fall. When I'm back in the US of A. Meaning: I can go see The Pixies!! And. I just bought two tickets online. Who wants to go? It's Chicago. The Aragon Ballroom. 15 November (Monday).

What?! That's just, well, sad. The Pixies are the backbone of a whole rock movement that emerged around the Boston scene in the late 1980s. Former Pixie, Kim Deal, went on to form The Breeders & The Amps. Former Pixie Frank Black (went by Black Francis w/ the Pixies, neither is his real name, it's Charles Thompson) went on to a solo career and as Frank Black & The Catholics.

As a Pixie fan, this shouldn't matter, but what is the cost?
I may put together a group from Detroit and go as well. Would be well worth the 5.5 hour drive from the Motor City.
Likely won't have another chance.

I'm going to see the Gypsy Kings in Chicago in July with friends from Lansing. Chicago is the best town for concerts. --s

did you know they are playing with THE CURE in cali - i had a chance to go: free ticket/airfare /hotel but i dont think i can stand to leave Val, so none for me. : (
