Good news

06.11.2004

First, I'm feeling much better. Amazing what two days of hybernating in front of the TV can do. And just in time for the weekend! Vadik Barrón plays at O Mundo Cafe tonight.

After not visiting cyberspace for almost 48 hours, I've email & blogs to catch up on. So I'll get to that soon enough. But some good news:

Today's La Razón didn't carry a single bit of protest news on the front page. Not one.

There's now a Living in Bolivia blog [beta version]. We're looking for writers on any topic (sports, culture, politics, etc.). So join up.

Also, I just found out what I'm teaching in the Fall. PSCI 250, International Relations. This is great, because I've taught it before. Meaning it's easier to prepare a syllabus, textbook, and website on short notice. And I'm scheduled to teach PSCI 240 (Intro to Comparative Politics) the following semester.

Oh. And today's my sister's birthday. Hope this one's better than the last one, Kelly.

Great for teaching assignments. B/c I am teaching my own class for the first time, it's a relief that there is someone who may help me w/ advice. You have been warned, lol. N.

Yeah, excited to be back in Kzoo for at least one more year. And I'm willing to give anyone teaching advice if they'd like (or if anyone wants to sit in on my course). What are you teaching, Nenad?

I'd been hoping to teach Latin American Politics for a while now. But first we'd have to get a Latin Americanist to stay long enough to receive tenure. Our department keeps driving people away ... wonder why?

Posted by: Miguel at June 12, 2004 05:22 PM

Why? But I don't want to wonder about stuff I can't change. Nobody listens to me. I even approached them w/ my volunterism for taking over the news and stuff of the department but no response after it. I guess they forgot?! N.
