Weekend update

06.21.2004

Didn't get online at all this weekend. Had dinner at the gringo tambo w/ some new arrivals — who can't travel to their archaelogical dig site because of bloqueos. Pleasant conversation & good food.

Saturday, I pretty much cleared out my apartment, leaving the furniture. I figure the next tenant can use it. I couldn't find my landlady to hand over the keys. So. Made an appointment through her maid for Sunday, 3pm.

After tango class, I went to O Mundo Café to meet Colin, a newly arrived freelance journalist writing a story on Picachuri. Had to good time talking over beers, and I especially appreciated the alfajores he brought.

Sunday, I went up to meet my landlady, who wasn't home. And she wasn't expected until after 5pm. So. I just left the keys in the open apartment & walked away. I left the place in better shape than I found it, so it should be OK.

Went back to O Mundo Café to keep Daniel company. After winning several games of chess, a rush of tourists entered. We taught a Dutch couple to play cacho. I ended up closing the place after midnight.
