Convention blogging

08.31.2004

The age of internet journalism is really taking over. Reason, a magazine I like (if not always agree w/) has set up a convention blog. They also link to the anti-RNC convention blog at buzznet.com. The Reason group blog includes some of the biggest names in the punditry blogosphere. The one at buzznet.com lets anyone post (which is pretty cool, IMHO). I'm sure there are others out there; feel free to post their URLs in the comments if you find them.

Also, a bit of journalistic controversy broohaha. Seems the editor of Harper's wrote a column analyzing the GOP convention's speeches. Except. Well. The article was published a full week before the speeches took place. Oops? Well, there goes another magazine that's lost my respect. Aren't magazine editors supposed to know when their issues go to print? And aren't we supposed to at least listen to our opponents before we decide if we disagree w/ them or not? Or has politics been reduced to (hands over our ears) "Nananana ... I can't hear you!"
