09.03.2004OK. This (via Burton Terrace) freaks me out. And this (via Instapundit) makes me question journalism. This election's turning nastier.

UPDATE: A permalink from the local paper to the 1st story. Someone (still under investigation) shot at the GOP office in Huntington, West Virginia, during Bush's acceptance speech last night. Could be nothing. Still creepy, though.

did you read the article on the site... it stated at the end that their article was linked from the Drudge report and because of that their server was brought down with the high amount of hits. got to love internet journalism.

Yeah, but have you seen that the AP is now trying to back pedal its way out of the fact that it fabricated a story? Some TV networks broadcast Bush's speach, and no one booed when he wished Clinton a speedy recovery; people cheered. It's not even a question of media bias (I'm sure some reporters are biased the other way). It's an issue of media professionalism & competence.
