Pick-a-debate contest

10.06.2004

Sam's comment to a previous post sparked an idea. So. Here's some audience participation: Pick any two people you'd like to see debate, as well as the issue they'll debate. It has to be a political issue, but they don't have to be "politicians" debating. Post two names & an issue in the comments. Feel free to offer explanations for your choices. I'll judge & announce the winning entry this Saturday.

-----
PRIZE OFFERED: As incentive, the contest winner gets a flavored mocha of their choice paid for, by me, from Rocket Star Café. If you don't live in Kalamazoo, we can work something out. Maybe a mixed-music CD?

UPDATE: Out of fairness, I'm offering two prizes: one for Kalamazoo locals & another for non-Kalamazoo entries. So, two winners. The Kalamazoo winner will get a free flavored mocha (or similar subsitute of their choice). The non-Kalamazoo winner will get a mixed-music CD mailed to them.

I would like to see Michael Moore and Ann Coulter debate over which one has crazier conspriacy theories. And to begin, I will say global warming is the first of the conspiracy theories. Let the Slacker and the Coultergeist begin!

BTW, if I win, either by default or because mine was good, could I get something different from the Rocket Star Cafe?

I think Rush Limbaugh should debate with any drug user who is in jail over the issue of whether or not he belongs there too, since he did say before that all drug users need to go to jail if I am not mistaken. And Whitney Houston should moderate.

Mahathir (former Prime minister of Malaysia) versus Sharon, on whether Israel is "evil". During the Organisation of Islamic Countries meeting last year, the last speech before his retirement, he made a speech that had antisemitic elements.
