AIM woes

12.07.2004

For some weird, unknown-to-me reason, AOL suspended my AIM username. While I'm almost never on IM, you can reach me w/ my .Mac username.

Oh, and Happy Chanukah everyone.

I'm sure it's nothing. Just weird that I never got a notification or anything, I just couldn't log into my account. I know it's free, so I suppoes they can probably legally kick me off whenever they wan. But still. I mostly only ever used it to talk to one other person, and I seriously doubt she's mad at me.

hi miguel. i like your blog. (i followed the link from the MA forum to donate)

AIM blocked my screen name yesterday, too... and it still won't let me sign on.
any idea why it happened?

Do you have an msn account? Can u keep one? Most of my blogger and non blogger friends use msn chat.

Stephanie:
I don't have an MSN account, and I'm not sure if works w/ iChat (the Apple-branded AIM emulator). I'll look into it, though. iChat may indeed work w/ MSN as well.

Alison:
As for why AIM suspended our accounts. Not sure on why that might be. Perhaps server woes? Or do you have a .Mac account? Because part of me suspects they just kicked of a lot of their .Mac account users all at once in a tiff w/ Apple. But there's no info on their site, or on the .Mac bulletin boards. But there might be info now?
