Happy ears

02.12.2005

In the mail from March Records today, some new & old (back catalog) goodies:

Club 8, The Friend I Once Had ** Embellish, Wake Me Up! ** See Venus, Hard Times For Dreamers ** Sprites, Starling, Spiders, Tiger and Sprites **

Love Ballads: Winter Into Spring 2000, a March Records compilation w/ Cinnamon, Kleenexgirlwonder, One Star, The Harvest Ministers, Holiday, Bike, The California Oranges, Ciao Bella, Spring, The Waves, The Cherry Orchard, Figurine

My ears are happy, and so's Yoshi (yes, I named my iPod). Also, I think Ciao! needs a tagline, something other than "my personal weblog". Suggestions?

I wanted to post a comment on your dblog, but the whole system of registering was screwing w/ me, so I gave up. N.

"So, if I understood correctly, you believe that Bolivian system, unlike those of its neighbors, was a consolidated democracy, sth of an anomaly in the region. But sth after all went wrong, and that's what you're interested to find out? These are my questions regarding only this part of the dissertation. Have to read the rest. N."

I see a trend w/your naming of electronics. Tanks for providing new music suggestions.

Nenad:

I don't go so far as to argue that Bolivia's democracy was consolidated (though some did), but that it was "stable" politically. I agree that "consolidation" is something of a loaded term. But, yes, my central question is: If it was stable, what suddenly went wrong? What caused the political system to, essentially, break down?

I also just updated dBlog w/ a brief proposal for the dissertation completion fellowship.

Perhaps you could include your love of music/politics/cats/moped to your tagline.
