Winter, the sequel

04.24.2005

Saw my good friend Josh Upson graduate yesterday. The ceremony was as ceremonies are: a little boring, a touch cheesy, and slightly uplifting. I've actually gotten to enjoy watching graduations over the years, especially now that I can count off a few former students (9 this time). Then off to The Crow's Nest for a celebratory dinner w/ the Upsons & a few friends.

The day was somewhat marred by 30° temps & constant snow/sleet (it's still on the ground this morning). But I guess that's Michigan.

Evening was topped off w/ several rounds of Call of Duty, where I thoroughly enjoyed killing (and being killed by) a few friends.

But seriously. When's this cold snap gonna turn back into a heat wave? Winter storm warnings in late April just aren't right.

UPDATE: This winter's a downer for us city folk, cuz it's cold & we hate to get our coats out again. But this cold snap's possibly ruined our local wine crop, not to mention any other fruits (since flowers froze, and fell off). If it gets warm enough, the farmers might get a second crop planted in time to bloom by harvest time. But the county fair'll be pretty sad, I betcha. At least, that's the rumor goin'round.

Wow. Miguel. Flashback to the ol' Moped Army days. I just found your site and wanted to say hello, and, yes, I'm feeling glum over this disgusting wintery weather as well... Last weekend I was distressed cause I couldn't find any summer clothes to wear, this weekend, it's too damn cold to even go outside.
