Argh

08.08.2005

August is well under way. I'm well behind schedule, and writer's block's got the best of me. This is not good. At least I still know what direction I'm moving in. That's gotta count for something, eh?

Mostly? I'm nervous about shifting more attention to a certain chapter, which is now becoming the core of my dissertation, when it used to a minor one. In the long-ago early proposal stage, it was just a null hypothesis! Now it's the big shebang, the big question.

So. Why am I nervous? Because the central question of my dissertation isn't so much a question, as it is a research area. And it's out of kilter w/ the literature (as I'm familiar w/ it). So that also brings w/ it a nervousness. I'm excited to make a potential innovative observation; I'm nervous that maybe it makes too much of too little.

But. This weekend's the Kalamazoo County Fair. And I'm in the mood for a demolition derby.
