Bolivia update

There's a nice little story on Bolivian blogs (or bitacoras) at bolivia.com, including a short list of Bolivian bloggers — particularly writers & other "cultural elites" (to use some sociology jargon) who've gotten into the game. It's worth checking out.

Also, it's been announced that constituyente.bo (the official constituent assembly page) will give live updates of assembly (once it's elected in July).

In other Bolivian news, Evo's government's running into trouble at home. The national labor federation (COB) has scheduled a strike for 21 April. Among their demands is the abrogation of DS 21060 (the 1985 executive decree that initiated neoliberal economic reforms). Simultaneously, an Asamblea de la Cruceñidad is scheduled in Santa Cruz to press the central government. Seems Evo (like Mesa & Goni before) sees his government blocked from various directions.

Things are certainly starting to get interesting again.
