Mr. & Mrs. Miguel

12.04.2006

K8 & I got married on Saturday, 2 December. Pictures & details to follow later. But now I desperately want a nap before tonight's faculty meeting. We got back into town a little before 3 am, and I had to be up at 8:30 am for my morning class. In characteristicly unromantic fashion, I wrote my comparative politics final exam on the plane ride back from Chicago to DC. Fortunately, K8 is extremely understanding.

But I had an amazing, wonderful time. Everything was lovely. Just lovely. Thanks to all who came, or even if you were just a distant well-wisher. Thank you.

In a day or two I should be caught back up on sleep, ready to start working on my various Bolivia-related projects again, which includes more than just this blog. So be ready for some new developments at "Ciao!" the blog.

-----
NOTE: We forgot to tell our priest (who apparently has a great sense of humor) whether K8 was changing her name, or not. So after a bit of nervous/awkard hesitation, he introduced us as "Mr. & Mrs. Miguel" to the congregation.

Felicitaciones por su matrimonio!

I am enjoying your blog (musings) on Bolivia and your academic responsibilities from Washington, DC. My Bolivian wife and I (I'm from Chicago) always check Ciao! to see what's happening back home.

Please watch development and implications of the new 'INRA Law'... this one is a big problem for Bolivia and Bolivians.
