... 11:34pm...

... . I guess it's safe to say that the weekend is now over. To be honest, it was actually a great one. The events leading me into it weren't so great, but everything ended up great. Friday night, reservation at the "Red Room." Ok, this was funny, I went with a friend from work to this happy hour, I got the invite from a co - worker. Mark, who recently came to De from Belgium. So we showed up, in Jeans and looking rather casual..... little did we know that the Red Room is this new exclusive by invitation only club. Kinda funny, many 30+ women, ... maybe not so bad ;) We were a bit dressed down, but I did recieve a few compliments on my Brown Italian shoes. So we had fun, drinking and talking. We met some interesting people, definetly the start to a good weekend.

Saterday, a trip to Philly for Cuban food and dancing at "Cuba Libre". Very cool place, definetly one of the better places I've been to. Great food, music and company. I spent the whole night dancing and practicing my salsa. I was a bit rusty but It came out ok. Only one time I really stunk it up.. .. I was standing and doing some moves, when a girl approached me and said. " Ah you dance.. let's go" So I went.. .. but man, she did not havce the beet right, no rythm and I don't know what she was dancing but it definetly wans't salsa. I was a bit painful. Anywho, it was fun. We ended the night at 4am by getting the famous Phillly CheeseSteak from either Geno's or Pat's. The lines were crazy. around the corner to each one... so we went to this place called Sam's between the two...... on the way in 2 girls were getting arrested and we had to step over some hair weve. So of course no line... At Sam's you could order... get this: Mussels, Clams, Oysters or Alasken Crab... hmm... good thing they are open 24hrs.. ... in case I'm craving for Mussels in White sauce I know were to go. ..

Well, it's almost 12 now... and I can't sleep and don't see it anytime in ... I cooked biscuts,.. didn't go to well. .... New Week, new Andres. ... here goes.... now all I need to do is get some sleep.

The good ole days

It's 9:15am, and I'm in my cubicle chair, recovering from yesterday. Possibly one of my worst days ever. I need to vent, so here's my laundry list.

Problems with Teresa
Late for work, took me over an hour to get to Downtown
Rained
Got bad performace review at work
Arguement over project at work
Stolen Idea
Rained hard on way out of work
Traffic
Late to Chi Chi's
Spilled sticky, stupid strawberry-banna margarita all over me
messed up 2 orders
.....
good news: My parents called me and asked how I felt.... becuase I have broncitis, That cheered me up. My parents and brothers can always make me feel better. It feels good to know that I have a great family.

NYC, gotta Love the Mayor

Yes, you know the man, ... not me .. Rudolph W. Giuliani ...

OK, so the flash on the picture makes him look like Wax... but it's not wax... or wait... did you believe it was Mayor R... because it is. I don't know why
I said anything about wax... or what ever.. . Actually YOU ARE. I mean, you are made of Wax. .... Stupid........ Not that this picture has anything to do with Wax. Just 4 normal real people. No wax at all. I'm just saying Wax because the word just came out... forget Wax. What are you, engaged to wax.

Well, that went on for way to long, and I have no idea why I wrote any of that. Brett and Katie came to the East Coast and we went NYC. It was great, Tom'd Dinner, the Soup Nazi. Yes, I know. It's sad, most of my knowledge of NYC is from Sienfield episodes. It's ok, I can get around on the subways, and push like a New Yorker. Eh!Forget About it!

Waiting Tables

well, I am a official Chi Chi's Waiter.. or I guess it's called server. I haven't served a table by my self, but after my test on Sunday, I'll be on my own. The training over the last 3 days has been ok, there is definetly a lot to learn and servers do work hard. So far I really like it, the people are cool and relaxed and actually seem to care about each other. I'm just real nervous about dropping a plate of hot food on somebody, or even worse... having a fajita flame mishap. But I'm sure in time everything will seem second nature.

The rents are comming.... yup, I think it's official, my parents will be here at the end of april to visit. I am very very excited. It's gonna be great, I know they will both love Philly and the historic east coast areas. We'll see, I hope my mom will be feeling better so she can fully enjoy everything when she comes.

Side Note: Major congrats to my Dad for winning his raquet ball tourement!!!

Eaten Alive

Well, it really wasn't that bad. I've gone to NYC 3 times in the past 30 days; The Big Apple Definetly took a huge bite out of me... financially... but... I had a great time, don't get me wrong. It's just that the city can just be very overwelhming at times. Luckily I had Lonely Plantet's Guide to NYC, complete with city area and subway maps. Trust me, this is a must if you plan on getting around and want to cut down on the amount of times you'll get lost.

This past week I've had friends staying with me. My apartment for a change is full of sounds, the TV, constant cooking and full of conversation. A needed change, it feels good to have enough room for visitors.... my couch/pullout bed worked great. I can't wait for my bro to come up. We'll also go to NYC, it'll be great. I know the city pretty good now, we'll have no problem getting by.

Good things in the city, ahh.... food. Not only food... but Bolivian food. I got information on 3 bolivian restuarants. All in Jackson Heights in queens. Alos took about 45 min to get there. Which involved, 2 trains and 12 city blocks of walking. Not to bad. The food was good, we had Charquekan. A great great meal, mine was complete with a Pacena (Bolivian Beer).

Well needless to say, my last three roadtrips have put a huge dent in my wallet, ... I'm going to recover. I start a new job tomorrow (In addition to my internship) as a waiter at Chi Chi's. I'm hoping to learn/work my way up to becomming a bartender and make some good tips during the night. I could really use the extra cash to pay off some of my bills. ...... oppss... 9:15 ... gotta get ready for a meeting....

Loins and Chickens

I just read Miguel's post on the visit from mom and dad. I have to say it's one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. I wish I would have been there; Sam, Miguel, Mom and Dad all met in Kalamazoo to have breakfast before the triip to Chicago to see my niece Novali

I watched Bush's speech last night, and wow... my opinion of Bush really changed. He really seems strong, Intelligent and most importantly confident. Maybe we have all been underestimating his abilities. I must say, at first I was a little bummed that the planned 1.5 hr of friends was interupted. You know, I have become a real victim of advertisement. I catch myself watching the strangest shows.

... I see dust balls .. sorry, it's been a while since I posted. I've been working hard on a project at work, modeling a supply chain. Very very frustrating, after work I don't even want to look at a computer until the next day. Spring break is here, I'm working but I have some friends stayin with me. Should be fun, NYC here we come...

Anywho, I promise tonight I'll write more.. gotta run...
